For 5 days, the Swim Stars swimming school taught its AUTO-RESCUE® anti-drowning program in Senegal to alleviate the scourge of drowning among Dakar’s youth. A solidarity initiative run in partnership with the Swim Kids swimming school, Novotel Dakar and local associations.
5 days, 10 swimming lessons, a dozen activities, 60 children trained in life-saving techniques, and a local swimming school trained by our Swim Stars teams in the AUTO-RESCUE method to ensure that this teaching continues.
1. Teach good aquatic reflexes to children from 3 local associations
2. Passing on its know-how so that the local Swim Kids swimming school can continue to train youngsters.
3. Share its water safety awareness program S.A.F.E. and supply equipment (caps, goggles, swimsuits, etc.).
The program AUTO-RESCUE® PROGRAMprogram from age 3was created by Swim Stars with a clear objective: learn to save yourself before you learn to swim, and develop lifelong survival reflexes.
For 2 lessons a day, the Swim Stars coaches were in the water with the apprentice swimmers to teach them the fundamentals of the program: breathing, buoyancy, propulsion and movement.
The level is validated by passing the AUTO-RESCUE® test: jumping, floating, swimming and getting out of the water on your own.
