Swim Stars swimming program The Swim Stars swimming program is built around 8 key areas of knowledge, enabling all our students to learn swimming and water safety in a structured and coherent way. This program sets out a clear framework, defines objectives by level, and provides information on the skills, aptitudes and knowledge that each student must acquire to ensure safety in and around the water! Safety skills Every student must be able to understand and identify the risks associated with water and aquatic activities. Through this knowledge, students will learn to adopt safe behaviors and make the right decisions for their own safety and that of others. Getting in and out of the water Gradually and progressively, students learn to assess the bathing conditions (depth, visibility, currents, tides) in which they are swimming, and learn to make the right decision to enter and exit the water as safely as possible. How to float Floating to safety, students learn to put themselves in a safe position (starfish), but also to tread water and orient their bodies in different positions. Know how to swim A fundamental skill in the Swim Stars swimming program, students learn everything from survival reflexes to mastery of various swimming techniques, depending on the course level. The aim is for students to be able to move in the water, choosing the swimming technique best suited to the situation, while developing their physical capacities, speed and endurance. Knowing how to immerse yourself The skills associated with this knowledge are indispensable in the quest for water safety. Knowing how to submerge means being able to control your breathing, being confident underwater and moving around while submerged. These are the objectives that will enable you to avoid danger or go and get an unconscious person. Rescue skills The risk of drowning concerns everyone! Knowing how to help means being able to recognize an emergency and know what action to take, identify the people likely to be able to help those in danger, and know the gestures that can be used to help or obtain help. How to save This knowledge is a perfect continuation of the Savoir se sauver, Savoir nager and Savoir sauver! Depending on your level, you’ll need to be familiar with rescue techniques and be able to perform them efficiently and effectively. To achieve this, the risks must be assessed and understood, and the most appropriate rescue method chosen. How to save yourself There’s a test for every course level! The aim of this knowledge is to simulate an emergency scenario, and find the right solution for the situation. To pass the tests, all you have to do is validate the defined sequence perfectly.
