Learning to float: why?
The AUTO-RESCUE® anti-drowning program teaches survival reflexes to children as young as 3 years old. Knowing how to float on your back is one of the essential notions.
Knowing how to float is essential
In the event of a fall into the water, a child floating on his or her back is able to breathe and call for help. As students progress, this skill is also needed if they get tired while swimming.
Some bodies of water (sea, lake…) have no edges or are difficult to access.
Floating on your back, commonly called starfish, is the best way to be safe!
