The Pat'Patrouille goes on a mission for water safety

Summer and all its swimming are fast approaching. In order to always push back the frightening statistics around drowning, a day of education and awareness of good aquatic practices took place on June 26, 2019.

So that everyone can take charge of their own safety in the water

Knowing how to save yourself and how to swim is even more essential at this time of year. In France, drowning is the second leading cause of death among children under 4 (Santé Publique France figures). If we work together to promote learning to swim, we can improve this frightening statistic and make the water wonderful for everyone!

World Water Safety Day will be an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of training in the aquatic environment for the development of safety.

In 2012, USA Swimming Foundation and SwimWays (our event partner) launched “Learn to swim day” in the USA with the aim of educating parents and children about water safety and the importance of learning to swim.

This year, Swim Stars and SwimWays are pooling their expertise to launch World Water Safety Day in France on June 26.

However, learning to save yourself and learning to swim should be done at all times – there’s no day to be safe in the water!

SwimWays and Swim Stars will continue to work daily to promote water safety and develop survival skills.
