Learn to swim: how many swimming lessons are needed?

The number of swimming lessons required varies according to the initial level and the objectives. But also according to the pace of progress of each. No one can learn at the same speed. In the end, the most important thing to progress is regularity.

Swimming lessons

The first few sessions are often the most laborious, and you will feel like you are not making much progress. However, once you are confident, the progress made in one session will be rapid and impressive!

“In just 1 month, my 5 year old son, who was very fearful, is no longer afraid to put his head under water! Better yet, he no longer throws a fit in the shower or bath to get wet and wash his hair! ” François, parent of Maxence at Swim Stars Saint-Maur.

It is not the number of sessions that is decisive to learn to swim. Indeed, it is mainly the duration and the regularity. Therefore, we recommend swimming between 6 months and 1 year minimum. And this, at a rate of once or twice a week to have convincing results.

Indeed, coordination, endurance and muscle development, especially the back,
are major benefits of swimming.
